Hi. I'm Darlene Conner.

Ok so not really, but imagine if Darlene grew up, took up crochet, got married, had babies and drank a lot of tea.

Oh, and liked cats.

I am a vegetarian, mama, crochet lover, vintage collector, and a tea enthusiast. Fluent in sarcasm and a solid appreciator of dry humour.

I like the '90s and British comedy and lace tablecloths and pretty teacups. So much so that my house looks like somebody's grandma's. But it's ok because I bake like nobody's business and have an extensive collection of nametags and hairnets aprons and vintage scarves.

I became a vegetarian at 26, and battle every day with the foodie in me that wants to cook and eat everything I see. So I make veggie dishes be so awesome nobody misses the meat and I'm not sad I have to cut out an entire food group in my culinary adventures. Quite frankly the thought of chewing some flesh now makes me gag, so it seems you can turn a committed carnivore into a lentil-loving freak with a minimum of fuss. Just don't ask me to love tofu.

I learned to make tea when I was six, knit when I was 10, and crochet when I was 21, thanks to the internet. Ain't no YouTube was around back then, so all I had was drawings on about.com to follow. My nanna made me tea when I was small because she told me coffee kills little kids. She also dunked her buttered toast into her tea so I probably should have put two and two together that she might not be an expert on such things.

I am trying to grow my own veggies, I love bento, cheese, and stuff that smells like vanilla. Including vanilla. I have a bookshelf in every room and probably won't be your friend any more if you dog-ear pages. Or if you don't like Kevin Smith films.

If any of this sounds like your cup of tea, then welcome aboard. Enjoy your stay. Have a cucumber sandwich?

<3 Stacey.

Oh, and I also speak. You know, out loud.

And if you're looking for some veg links... here's some. But I don't preach. In fact it's so normal for me I don't even think about it any more. But you might find them helpful!
